In
2003 I relocated my design studio to St. Joseph, Michigan,
and opened a retail store called FORM. Along
with my white porcelain designs for B.I.A. Cordon Bleu,
I have assembled a unique collection of gifts and decorative
accessories.
In a day and age when retail has become homogenized, i.e.,
one finds the same lines in different stores all across the
country, I strive to find items and lines that are well designed
and are't found everywhere else.
A variety of these distinctive lines and products are
featured on this site.
In 2005, I built a new addition to the store, a clay studio,
The Pottery Shop, where I create both one-of-a-kind
and short run production items in earthenware, terra cotta,
stoneware and porcelain. All Bret Bortner Design items created
in this clay studio will be available exclusively at FORM or
through this website.
